Pennsylvania\nDongheui Lee\, TUM\nShigeki Sugano\, Waseda University\nKunpeng Yao\, University of Leeds \n \nDescription:\n \nAs the robotics community faces an unprecedented acceleration in publication volume\, staying at the forefront of research has become a monumental challenge. As an example\, in 2025 alone\, IEEE published more than 50 thousands on robotics and automation\, and IEEE publications represent only a fraction of the total research available online. Reading even one subfield fully can take weeks of full-time work. That leaves little room to explore beyond one’s specialty\, even though major breakthroughs often come from cross-disciplinary idea. \nTo make things worse\, the vast majority of researchers search for papers using Google Scholar\, IEEEXplore\, or simply via Google\, arXiv\, and social media. All these search methods put on par papers published in any venue\, irrespective of the venue quality\, and including papers that have not undergone a peer-review process. Important contributions are hence more and more likely to go unnoticed. It has also become harder for young researchers to grasp the literature\, increasing the risk of revisiting already solved problems. \nThis panel will debate how to address this issue. The panelists will present different solutions\, ranging from reducing the volume of publications and modifying paper formats to emphasize novelty and significance\, to developing new search engines that rank papers according to the quality of the journal or conference\, or based on peer-review evaluation scores. Others will discuss the role that LLMs and other AI tools can play in reviewing the literature\, and present a case study comparing human versus LLM-generated review of the Learning from demonstration literature. The audience will be invited to participate in the debate through live polling and rank your question tool.

DESCRIPTION:The Imperial Night on  Wednesday\, June 3\, 19:00-23:00 (exact time to be confirmed) is THE social event of ICRA. Make sure you purchase a ticket that includes the Imperial Night! \nDelegates with the appropriate ticket will be immersed in an Imperial Night! The Hofburg Palace in Vienna (usually not accessible) and the adjacent Spanish Riding School are the venues for this event. Golden and historic rooms (formerly reserved for the Austrian emperors) invite you on a sensory tour\, accompanied by Austrian culinary highlights and artistic delights. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a selfie with the Emperor or the beautiful Empress Sisi. \nPlease note: Tickets are limited to 5\,000. Don’t miss this unique event and secure your spot during ICRA 2026 registration now!\nPre-sale tickets only\, no onsite ticket sale! Your name badge serves as ticket as the Imperial night is coded on it when entitled/paid. \nExplore the venues!\nEvery participant receives a stamp pass upon entry and can collect stamps in some of the around 30 rooms. Among all completed stamp passes 50 monetary prizes will be drawn and distributed on Thursday at the VIECON (congress center). \nDetailed information\nAll participants with a valid ticket for the Imperial Night event will receive detailed event information closer to the event in a separate email. \nDresscode:\nThe setting is imperial. You might dance waltz or polka. At balls we would wear long dresses and smoking which\, of course\, is not required at ICRA. But given this is THE dinner of the year in robotics\, maybe do not dress too leisurely (no ripped jeans\, no shorts). However\, we will welcome you as you are\, means no real dress code is given. \nChildren at the event\nUnfortunately\, children under the age of 3 years are not permitted due to the regulation of the venue.
