Airport Transportation
There are various options for transportation to and from Vienna International Airport (Flughafen Wien Schwechat):
- City Airport Train (CAT)*: Take the CAT from Vienna Airport to station Wien Mitte (City Center) in just 16 minutes (access to metro lines U3 and U4). -> Link
- S-Bahn (S7): The suburban railway (S7) takes around 25 minutes from the airport to station Wien Mitte (City Center) or further to station Wien Praterstern. From Praterstern, it is only one stop with metro line U2 to the congress center. -> Link
- Taxi/Ridesharing: Taxis are available at the airport, with an approximate travel time of 20–30 minutes to VIECON (=Messe Wien), depending on traffic. Ride-sharing services such as Uber and Bolt are also available.
- Airport Bus: The Vienna Airport Lines (VAL) bus service connects the airport with key locations in Vienna, including the city center (Morzinplatz), Central Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) and West Train Station (Westbahnhof). From there, the metro provides connection to VIECON (Messe Wien). -> Link

Train Stations
Vienna has 2 bigger train stations: Central Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) and West Train Station (Westbahnhof). International Trains and most trains from the Austrian train operator “ÖBB/OEBB” would stop at the Main Train Station whereas some trains towards the west as well as from the provide “Westbahn” will stop at the West Train Station.
Getting Around Vienna
Vienna boasts an excellent public transportation system, making it easy to get around the city:
- U-Bahn (Subway): The U-Bahn network consists of five lines (U1, U2, U3, U4, U6) and operates frequently. Messe Wien is served by the U2 line (“Messe-Prater” station).
- Trams & Buses: Vienna’s extensive tram and bus networks provide convenient options for travel within the city.
- Tickets: Public transport tickets can be purchased at stations, kiosks, online or via the Wiener Linien mobile app. A single journey costs 3 EUR. We recommend to get the “7 Days VIENNA” pass, covering metro. tram and bus for 7 days for 25,20 EUR.
- Bike & E-Scooter Rental: Vienna offers rental bikes and e-scooters for short-distance travel. Services like Citybike, Lime, and TIER operate across the city.
Parking
If you are traveling by car, several parking options are available near VIECON (Messe Wien):
- VIECON / Messe Wien Parking Garage (A and D): These garages are located directly next to the exhibition center and offer ample parking spaces. Parking A is the closer one to the ICRA Entrance A.
- On-Street Parking: Limited on-street parking is available near Messe Wien, but please note that Vienna has designated short-term parking zones.
