Tour program:
The UAV R&D Showcase for Autonomous Navigation and Resilience demonstrates the HW/SW developments which are utilized in context of the cooperative R&D project SAMURAI. The main goal of the SAMURAI project is the design, development, integration and test of a UAV targeting certification within the SPECIFIC category of EASA/Austro Control. The UAV will support a maximum take-off mass (MTOM) of 25 kg and a payload capacity between 1.5 kg and 5.5 kg. The SAMURAI project aims to advance safe multicopter architectures with robust control, efficient power electronics, and reusable components for future aviation platforms.
The Digital Factory at the UAS Technikum Wien is a pilot-scale smart production environment that demonstrates real‑world Industry 4.0 scenarios. It integrates modern automation, robotics, IT systems, logistics concepts, and advanced manufacturing technologies into a heterogeneous system landscape. Within this model factory, miniaturized robotic systems are produced and guided through all stages of the value chain — from production and assembly to quality control and packaging. The facility enables hands‑on exploration of topics such as mechatronics and robotics, automation, robot vison, augmented and virtual reality, and robot-based manufacturing.
